Ladies and Gentlemen,
" To be Or Not to be an Expert? "
It feels good (at least for me, I don't know about you đ) - to be back after a long hiatus. Or should I call it a " Vanvas" from Bridge blogging?
Be that as it may, the come back is one with an introspection.. Self introspection, you can call it đ.
Some are regular winners, some others are regular losers / tail enders, but the vast majority are just REGULAR players ( Also ran?)
Restarting the blogs and today's caption - I was inspired by reading the latest blog by Ms Priya Balasubramanian - "To do or not to do " Undos".
That brings me to the point. Who decides who is an Expert?
In BBO, you are your own attorney, your own judge, you have your own convocation and bestow your own Degree on yourself đ˘đ.
Some real Experts take pleasure in declaring their skill level as " Novice " Or Beginner! Why? Search me đ!
Whereas a huge number of players who are really either intermediate or, at the most advanced, proclaim themselves as Experts, or even World Class đđ.
After playing the game for over 4 decades and after testing my skills in various tourneys, at various places including overseas locations like London, Muscat, Dubai and the U.S... I thought it is time for introspection!
Till about 6 months ago, I had put my skill level on BBO as Expert. Now, of my own volition, I corrected it to " Advanced" since I felt I need to learn a lot still to become an expert đ.
The game is addictive, no doubt. Once you are hooked, you cannot do without your daily dose.. Or should I call it " Your daily fix at 6 in the evening "?
Whatever be your skill level, around 5 p.m your hands shiver! There are many anxious queries on WhatsApp if the tourney is not listed! đ˘
It was alright to fake your skill level in the Era of Corona, online. But when you return to live bridge?
Just some random thoughts from an advanced mind. The more I think about it, the more confused I get and I go berserk đ
Whatever be your skill level, real rr fake, everyone seems to enjoy the daily dose, win or lose.
Happy bridging,
Warmest Regards
VNR
