Archie Sequeira wins Realbridge online bidding contest

Archelius Sequeira, or Archie as he is popularly known, showed that

he is still as sharp as ever by winning the monthly online bidding contest held by RealBridge for the month of June, 2025

Born in Mangalore, Archie worked for a healthcare multi-national in Mumbai from 1961 until he retired in 2002. Now 85 years old, he has settled back in Mangalore. He has been playing duplicate bridge since 1970, and has represented India in Open and Seniors events at numerous world championships.

He narrowly missed qualification for the quarter-finals, each time finishing 9th. He won gold in the Commonwealth Teams in 2006 and in the 2007 BFAME championship. He is married with three children. He says, “Success has been possible thanks to strong spousal and family support.”
