  • A man named Ely Culbertson? contract bridge exists today due to this man. But the 13 spades is just a legend.

    • What are the odds of being dealt a 13 card suit? 🤔 According to Guinness Book of Records, 158,753,389,999 to 1 to be precise. That's around almost 16000 crores or 160 billion to one!

Comparable to the NPAs of many banks in the recent limelight.

One Bill McNall, was dealt this once in a lifetime hand of 13 Hearts, in a tournament in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear . It's never been done. In fact ,the longest reported suit in an official tournament was of 11 cards, and came to be popularly called "the earthquake of Sao Paulo".
