BCBA Annual Swiss Pairs

About BCBAEvent Details/ScheduleRegistrationResults

The Bombay Contract Bridge Association was established in 1979 to cater to the needs of players in Mumbai (then Bombay). Over the past several years, they have been providing yeoman services to their members in the city.

Since the lock down was imposed in the second quarter of last year, it has been working overtime to provide its members a platform to play regularly. BCBA started holding a daily event in the afternoon for its members which has been an extremely well attended event.

BCBA has also been one of the first adopters of the RealBridge platform. They have hosted a couple of fairly popular Sunday events called "Sunday Facers". More recently, they have commenced a weekly tournament on RealBridge called TGIF. This is played in the Swiss pairs format and is open to all players.

BCBA is proud to present its Annual Bridge tournament on the 16th and 17th of October! This will be a Swiss Pairs Event played over 2 days.

The eliminations will be held on Saturday, 16th October.

The field will then be divided into two groups Gold and Silver (if the number of participants are large, a Bronze group may be considered as well).

Attractive Cash Prizes of a minimum of Rs. 1,80,000 are on offer. In addition, the winners and runners up of the Gold event will also be awarded trophies.

The winner shall receive the Murli Deora Trophy courtesy Mrs. Hema Deora. The runners up shall receive the Girdharilal Agrawal Trophy courtesy Mrs. Sushila Agrawal.

In order to encourage mixed pairs and less accomplished players, BCBA is also offering a couple of special prizes in both the Gold and Silver groups.

Do participate in this event and help us make it a grand success.

The BCBA Annual Swiss Pairs will be played on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17, 2021. The total prize pool for the event is Rs. 1,80,000+

The event will be played on RealBridge.

Scoring will be cross IMPs converted to VPs (continuous 20-point scale).

Eight Qualifying rounds of 6-boards each will be played on Saturday. On Sunday the TOP 50 pairs will qualify for the Gold finals, the next 50 (or more) pairs for the Silver finals.. There will be carryover from the qualifying rounds to the finals for all flights. If the number of participants are large, a Bronze Final group may be considered as well.
