Ladies and Gentlemen,
"One Nation - One Game - Multiple formats ?"
We are all sanguine that the game of bridge is a-political. It is not restrained by any cast, creed or geographical boundaries.
Our "Dharma" is to play, teach, share and enjoy. Our motto is "Sarva jana sukhino bavantu" - which includes the whole world ๐
In South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, we follow the Dravidian model of Bridge Dharma, sanatana or otherwise ๐
We may not differentiate between / among the 4 castes ( " Jathis" ) but we do recognise the 4 jathis ( suits) , but "No" Trumpeting about it ๐
We, the bridge fans have no qualms in following "The eternal religion of bridge"- performing our duties as per laws to do our "Karma" ! Results are of no significance.
We may have multiple choices - venues, formats, partnerships, scoring patterns - but only one identity for "Bridge Bharath"๐
It sure is a suo moto decision (taken by ourselves) that we are inseparably united, in spite of states or nations.
Henceforth, it will be "One World, One Game" - no constitutional amendments needed!
Happy Bharatiya Bridging,
VNR
