Ladies and Gentlemen
The sleepy little town of Alleppey suddenly woke up last weekend with a boat load of noisy Bridge players 🙂.
The occasion? Golden Jubilee of the NC John memorial - 50th edition - sponsored, organised and facilitated by NCJ John ( pet name "Kuttappan" alias "Kuttappayi" - of late modernised as "Kuttapji").
It was a heady mixture of old and new players making a bee-line for two days of spiritual bridge - literally. God's own country blessed with beautiful location, exquisite and typical spread of food and the elixir of different kinds flowing aplenty.
Kuttapji took us through the memory lane of the past 50 years of Alleppey bridge with his customary humour and wit. His stories and anecdotes were as tasty as the Kappa and beef curry. 😌
Kudos to Sathish and SRC Sekar for the blemishless, smooth conduct of the events on both the days.
To sum it up, whether you boarded the Flight A Or B, it didn't matter, both were flights of fancy. Fun, laughter and camaraderie were in full flow, under and over the bridge!
Along with prizes, everyone took away nostalgic memories 😃
I am sure the bridge fraternity is looking forward to more editions of the Alleppey recipe for years to come.
Finally thanks to S. Rajeev of Trivandrum and the organising committee who did all the hard work for a smooth sailing in the back waters ✌
