Bridge and Partnership

V N Ramamoorthy

Ladies and Gentlemen

"Bridge is certainly not a Cul - de - sac "!

For driving pleasure you always prefer a one - way street. Of course, preferably with no speed breakers and pot holes !

But for an outing in Bridge it is always a two way street with many a road blocks created by opponents.

It is like a Tango , synchronized swimming or a jugalbandi. One false step, an inadvertent slip or a wrong move, you are down a black hole along with your partner, much to your chagrin 🙃.

Watch your steps irrespective of whether you play step responses or not.

The partnership has to work like a pair of bullocks in a cart. That too a pair of beasts matched in height, weight and temperament!

Imagine tethering a bullock one side and a race horse at the other end of the yoke - you go cartwheeling into a catastrophe 😢.

My way or the Highway attitude guarantees your team or pair is destained to a cul - de - sac!

Choose the right ways and you will go places🙂

Happy bridging,

Cheers
