Ladies and Gentlemen,
"Does the past influence the present to decide the future?"
Sigh!!😓 The past, the present and the future.
It almost sounds like the movie of yester years - the good, the bad and the ugly?
It is here again - the election and / or selection. In politics, as well as bridge, it is a necessary evil, I suppose .
In politics, the past is history, the present is reality and the future is optimistically pessimistic.
In politics, you vote directly. But in bridge, though, you have to do it indirectly through a college.
In both cases, you are not sure as to who is going to rule over you 😢
And you cannot rule out the possibility of selection or rejection irrespective of any election or trials!
In the game of bridge though, it is a different take, it seems. Players want weightage for the past, more leverage for the present and pipe dreams for the future!
Talk about the ranking points one gets rank annoyed. Talk about the current form and there is a caveat based on experience and seniority.
Some smart alecs complain that whichever way you turn you have a great choice :
"Heads you lose, tails we win"!
Freedom of speech and expression is always there. Atleast you are allowed to say your prayers before you are hanged!
So what is the moral of the story?
Normally, you have an election to make a selection. So what, you can first do "Selection" and follow it with
"election" for a change.
Happy electioneering in bridge,
VNR
