Future Masters – Day 3

The Future Masters Swiss League ended yesterday afternoon with Avengers Assemble (Soham Sarkar, Bijit Datta, Saila Ranjan Das, Shouvik Das, Biswadip Roy and Mithun Mukherjee) on top of the heap with Gladiators (Tarun Singhal, Arvind Jain, Abdi Naffar, Anurag Pandey and Nitin Vaidya). Proyas (Sagar Bhuiya, Tanmoy Mujumdar, Rajesh Jain, Sisir Banerjee, Prasanta Bera and Santanu Chakraborty) took third place with Jiya (Anirban Sarkar, Sujan Choudhary, Arun Majhi, Chandan Mitra, Dipak Pal and Sailen Das) was in fourth place.

These four picked BSC, Mavericks, Standard Plus and Kohinoor (who stood in the 5th-8th positions) as their opponents respectively.  Click here for the full result of the Swiss League.

In the quarter finals, Avengers Assemble simply overwhelmed BSC with a margin of over 80 IMPs. While the margins in the other matches were much less, All the winners i.e. Mavericks, Proyas and Jiya were convincing winners.Click here for the full results of the quarter finals.

In the semi finals, Avengers Assemble take on Jiya while Maverick take on Proyas. These matches will be boradcast on the RealBridge kibitz server for those who wish to watch the match.

The losers will play off for the third place.

In the pairs event, 40 pairs started off yesterday. After 10 round Mridul Das and Hemant Kumar Sarmah were leading the field with 64.66 IMPs. Abhirup Ghosh and Arnab Basu Roy were in second place with 53.17 IMPs. Youngster, Tirthraj Chowdhary was in 3rd place with this father Debraj. In fourth place was an upcoming ladies pair of Priya Balasubramanian and Bindiya Kohli with youth world champions Kalpana Gurjar and Vidya Patel in 5th Place. The participants will be joined by some of the pairs from the losing quarter finalists. The top 22 pairs will make it to the finals.
