Dr. Vipul Jain, an avid bridge enthusiast and renowned doctor in New Delhi, passed away early on the morning of 23rd September. A jovial, warm, and generous person, he was always willing to help others. His absence will be deeply felt across the bridge community.
We share below some tributes from a few of his friends. We are sure there would be many more tributes from many more friends, but this is what we could garner immediately.
Urvashi Anand
Vipul was my bridge partner for six years, and I feel fortunate to have played and learned alongside him. He was warm, generous, and always ready to help. Many at the bridge table turned to him for medical advice, which he patiently offered. He will be deeply missed.
Daisy Madhur Singh
This is a terrible and shocking loss. Vipul and Urvashi had developed a wonderful partnership. I will always remember our bridge trips together, where he patiently joined us for saree shopping. He will be missed tremendously.
Maneesh Bahuguna
Vipul touched countless lives. Many in the bridge fraternity relied on him for medical advice and treatment, which he always offered generously. He was a kind and caring friend who will be sorely missed.
Sukrit Vijayakar
I came to know Vipul during Covid, when his willingness to help others deeply touched me. He went out of his way to help those in need and showed tremendous care during an illness at a tournament. He was taken from us too soon and will be greatly missed.
Dr. Ekta Chadha
Vipul was a great doctor, a formidable bridge player, and an even greater human being. Always smiling and willing to help, he shared a special bond with fellow doctors. I will always cherish our banter over bridge hands and his sharp, affectionate remarks. I can still hear him say, “Isse kharab nahi khel sakti tu.” A truly unforgettable person who will be deeply missed.
