Welcome, Soumadeep Ghosh

On the 19th of June, we received an announcement that Soumadeep Ghosh has been appointed the new Master Point Secretary of the Bridge Federation of India

I am, in particular, very chuffed about his appointment. While Ranjuda has performed yeoman service to the country in this regard, it is time the baton passed over to the next generation of bridge workers. So, Welcome, Soumadeep Ghosh

Here is a little more information about him for all of you. Soumadeep is all of 30 years of age! He has been a promising junior who has performed creditably on the junior world stage.

In 2019, he and his partner Arya, qualified for the pairs finals. They also were 5th in the BaM event that year. In 2022, their team had advanced to the semi finals of the under 31's. Unfortunately, there were unable to participate in the selection trials for the juniors for last year's world championships else one could well have seen them win more laurels.

He has been playing as part of the Bangur Cements team from April this year; a part of their initiative to promote promising juniors.

We wish him all the best in his new post and hope to see more young blood participate in the administration of the game

As usual, please do feel free to write your comments on the post.
