Team DSM to Represent India in the Seniors Championships

Team DSM, comprising of Raju Tolani (NPC), Ashok Goel, K R (Dadhy) Venky, Anil Padhye, Rajesh Dalal, Subrata Saha and Sukamal Das, clinched victory in the Finals of the Senior Selection trials to represent India in BFAME and (hopefully) the D'Orsi Cup to be held in 2022.

Here we see the team without their NPC. We hope they will go on to better the results of the last Indian team and return with the Cup!

The day started well for DSM with Subrata Saha and Sukamal Das bidding an excellent small slam in the first board to pull 11 imps for team DSM. However, the session still belonged to Hemant Jalan's IV as some aggressive bidding by DSM saw them concede a little more imps than they gained by their aggression. So, with two sessions to go, the lead of 27.2 imps appeared to me almost manageable.

However, DSM were having none of it. They played superlative bridge in the fourth session to extract 21 imps and an overall lead of 48 imps. Team Hemant Jalan decided to not try and make a fight of it in the last session to leave DSM deserving winners
