Interesting Hand

A typical auction on the board abover would be 1D-X-1H-P-2C-P-3C. The bidding generally subsided at this level at most tables.

As Kista, our expert says:

None of the Souths considered a redouble of the take out by East. At this vulnerability could lead to a juicy score 200 / 500. As the cards lie, both 3NT and 5Clubs can be made by NS

However, only one pair i.e. Koushik Mukherjee and Nirmal Jain actually bid the par contract of 5 Clubs in this hand yesterday.

Today's session begins at 630 as usual. Please do make it a point to be seated in good time.

A number of pairs are requesting to be allowed to withdraw. Friends, you have signed up for a three day event, it is incumbent upon you to play all three days. Please do not disrupt the field by withdrawing so.
