Holi Hai! —- and —- Global Amity

The Holi Hai Event - Team Burzen Champions!

The Holi Hai event saw extremely limited participation with only 14 teams participating. However, that did not make the qualification and knock outs any less exciting.

The dark horse of the event was clearly the eventual runners up Team Snapdragon. In the last round of the Swiss League they dispatched the vastly stronger team of AJ's. They continued their form in the semi finals to beat Team Samadhan in what were the last 5 boards of a 30 board match.

The ultimate winners, Team Burzen, were a bit too strong for them even though they did manage to win the second session by a single IMP.

In the play off for third place Team Mixed Bag got the better of Samadhan, overcoming a carry over of 7.5 IMPs. Today's outing must have disappointed the fourth place team, starting as they did as Swiss League winners. However, this is the way the cards fall and we hope to see them do better in future events.

In the continuation league, Team AJ's, who were surprisingly displaced from the knock outs by Snapdragon, looked to have the continuation league title under wraps. However, Team Setu gave them a serious fright in the last round leaving the margin to second place below 3 VPs. Kudos to team Setu for finishing runners up.
