Today's highlights
- The Indian Senior Team continued building on its earlier lead to confirm a semi final berth.
- Sandeep and Jaggy continued playing strong and steady bridge to finish 4th at the end of the pairs qualification. Binod and Sanjit were in 12th place. Raju and Ajay finished 15th while Prakash and Anirudh faded to 17th place after a fairly strong start today.
- In the trans-nationals, the Indian Mixed team finished 19th while the Indian Women finished 47th.
- The four member Korean team could not sustain its early lead against Argentina and ultimately bowed out of the Quarter finals
- The English ladies almost pulled off another Houdini act today but failed to make it to the semi finals
- After giving the USA Seniors a really big scare, the Turkiye team ultimately succumbed in the last two sessions to bow out.

The US fought back magnificently to ward off the challenge by Turkiye and enter the semi finals. The Turks actually extended their narrow lead in the 4th session but, in the end, the USA Seniors proved too good for them to win the match by a mere 12 imps. USA meets France in the semis. The French won the first session to extend their lead to 85 imps after which Israel conceded the match.
India won the 4th session handily 40-9 and put on 2 more imps in the 5th session before Canada conceded the match. They meet Sweden in the semi finals. Sweden, who were trailing by 7 imps overnight, put on a stellar performance which all the 3 sessions convincingly to end the match 53 imps ahead.
In three of the four matches, the visitors struck back handsomely to reach the semis. All the losers had disastrous 4th sessons from which they could not recover to eventually lose their matches
The semi final match up is Poland versus Switzerland and Italy versus Argentina.
All the overnight leaders maintained their leads to make it to the semi finals. England did manage to fight really hard, falling short ultimately by just 2 imps.
The semi final line up is USA vs Sweden and Turkiye vs China
While the matches were in a fairly balanced position at the half distance, all the leaders continued to pull away from their opponents to make it to the semi finals
The line up for the semi finals is Poland versus Italy and Germany versus China
