W. S. Sundaresan Memorial
34 teams started off in WS Sundaresan Swiss Teams event yesterday. After 8 grueling rounds, the 8 teams listed alongside qualifed. Spade Ace and Mango managed to barge into the party with huge wins in the last round.
On the other side, Team Amanora must be licking their wounds. After having beaten the top two teams in the league, and lying 5th at the end of 6 rounds, they had a very forgettable last round sending them all the way down to 17th place. Such are the ups and downs of bridge!
Notable absentees in this list are Poddar Housing, who just missed the bus finishing 9th and Dhampur Sugar Mills.
The IMP Pairs started this morning with 61 pairs in the contest. This event will be played over 2 sessions of 22 boards. In point of fact, there will be just one session which will be halted in the middle for a lunch break.
On the left, we have also listed the prizes. Based on the response, the value of prizes has been increased by Rs. 5,000 above the amount guaranteed. We hope you continue to participate in larger numbers.
Bridge From Home Club
The Monday Musings Match Point event of the club will be tomorrow. Please register your entries at the earliest.
The next event will be the Wednesday Wonders IMP pairs tournament on Wednesday, 3rd February.
Smt. Laxmi Mujumdar Mixed Pairs
Registrations for the Smt. Laxmi Majumdar event are now open.
The event is on 6th and 7th of February.
The first day will feature an elimination held over two sessions of 22 boards each. Roughly 33-33% of the field will qualify for the finals the be held on Sunday which will be an all play all event. There will be a separate event for the non qualifiers on Sunday held over two sessions.
If the number of entries is too large, the format of the finals may be changed.
As of now, trios are not allowed
