BC Jain Memorial Tournament

Mr. B.C Jain was not just a keen and enthusiastic passionate bridge player, but a literal doyen of bridge.His zeal and passion for bridge was unparalleled. He was bridge personified, a player worth watching for his defence and table play. The manner in which he diffused problems and resolved impasses was a treat to behold. His performance at the bridge table was excellent and was a constant source of inspiration for the younger players.Mr. Jain’s interest and attraction for bridge is closely associated with his profession as a lawyer. A founder of a Bridge association in Uttar Pradesh and founder secretary of UPBA, he formed more than ten new district associations and started state championships way back in 1971. The UPBA, because of the strong foundation laid by him, is still going strong.He was nice to all and will be remembered in our hearts eternally. His son Arvind Jain has decided that to dedicate and sponsor an online tournament in his name for  a sport which he cherished all his life.There can be no better tribute to his memoryBridge From Home, is honored to have this opportunity to commemorate his memory with an event which, we all hope, will attract enthusiastic participation from all of you.

This year, the BC Jain Memorial Tournament will feature just one event.

• Swiss Teams – which will be played from Friday, 27th May to Sunday, 29th May.
• Competitors will play 7 rounds of 10 boards each
• After 7 rounds, the top 8 teams will qualify to play a super league
• The remaining teams will play a fresh league of 7 rounds of 10 boards each. They will be awarded 10% of their performance in the Swiss league as carry over.

 

Guaranteed Prizes of Rs. 1,00,000 on offer

(This is the equivalent of a BFI Category 2b Event)

The event will be played on RealBridge.

Supplemental Conditions of Contest(to be published)

The Event will be played as per the following schedule

 

• Teams of up to 8 people are permitted
• Availability of Video and Audio is Mandatory for all players. Failure to be visible and audible will attract penalties.
• Withdrawals mid way through the tournament will affect the whole event and therefore not allowed.
• Entry Fee : Rs. 2,300 per team
• Early Bird Entry (upto 22nd May) : Rs. 2,000 per team
