This week, we shall be conducting the B C Jain Memorial tournament in memory of one of the founders of the UP State Bridge Association.
The sponsor has elected to go the online route, rather than the live one, because he believes that it will facilitate greater participation and help more people celebrate the memory of on of the pinions of bridge in the last couple of decades of the 20th century.
The format opted is one of a continuation league, rather than a pairs event. This is to enable participants to slice up moments of free time on Sunday as per their convenience rather than block up the whole Sunday.
The prize money for the event is also substantial. A total purse of Rs. 1 Lakh is on offer.
As of now, 22 teams have signed up for the event starting on Friday. We hope to see many more teams signing up.
