Weekly Wednesday Pairs

Yesterday's BFH weekly event had 37 pairs contesting. After 16 boards, Binod Shaw and Sanjit Dey emerged winners. Anukool / Joy Sen were second and Gautam Pore and Mohd. Sahjahan were third. However, these results are tentative as the fourth and fifth ranked pairs had a bye and their results need normalization. We will inform you through tomorrow's bulletin.

Prabha Kunder Memorial

Almost 50 pairs have already registered for this event, which starts on Saturday.  In order to allow everybody to celebrate her memory, the organizers chose to keep the eliminations on BBO. Everybody will get to participate in at least 3 sessions. We promise to make the event an exciting one.

As already announced, the best mixed pair and the best ladies pair will also be suitably recognized.

The finals will consist of 24 pairs of which two pairs are sponsor's quota.

Trios are allowed. However, trios will not be eligible for the special prizes.

Union Club All India Bridge Tournament

The Union Club, Kolkata will be conducting an open bridge tournament from 24-27 December. This tournament will have attractive cash prizes sponsored by the Atha Group. It will consist of a  teams event and a pairs event. In addition, a consolation pairs event will be held on Sunday as well.

Shri Murli Deora Memorial Pairs

The name of Shri Murli Deora will always be etched in our minds for his patronage of bridge, apart from his many other accomplishments in the political arena. To commemorate his birth anniversary on the 10th of January, Mrs. Hema Deora, a very accomplished bridge player herself, and family are sponsoring a day long event that day. The first prize for the event will be Rs. 50,000 and a trophy to the winner. More details will be published soon.
