Subodh Maskara has, in a gesture of great generosity, created a tournament for those of us who have yet to scale the heights of bridge excellence in the country. This means that, instead of cheering the usual suspects like Formidables, Dhampur Sugar Mills, Texan Aces, etc.... you have a chance to attain glory for yourselves. That is why this event has been named, the Future Masters event.
The tournament has a prize money purse of Rs. 1 Lakh. Where would you get an event which specifically excludes top notch players from participating offering you this kind of prizes?
And yet, with just one day to go, we are seeing only 10 entries? We are frankly very puzzled. Hence, this post is being written with a bit of angst. Be that as it may, we require a minimum of 16 teams to register by End of Day today, failing which we will be constrained to call off the teams event. Similarly, for the pairs event, we require a minimum field of 30 pairs to register by the night of 4th November. Else, we may as well have the weekend off ourselves.
