Swiss Teams
Yesterday saw the conclusion of the quarter finals of the JM Shah Memorial Swiss Teams event. All four matches were closely fought and the phrase "it is sad that there can be only one winner" easily came to mind. Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the losers. Well played all of you.
The summary result is as shown below
The detailed results can be seen here. In the semi finals Maya Meera Sneha take on Team Simple while Mavericks take on Texan Aces. We wish the contestants all the best.
Earlier, in the Swiss League, Teams Maya Meera Sneha and Monica Jajoo led the field into the quarter finals with a huge lead from the rest of the field. While Dr. Sanghi's team was the 8th to qualify, the 9th and 10th ranking teams (Dipak Poddar and Setu) were just 0.08 VPs and 0.11 VPs behind them respectively. Of such stuff is tough competition made.
The full results can be seen here.

At the end of the first session, Tarun Singhal and Partho Banerjee lead the field with a score of 63.80 IMPs, over 16 IMPs ahead of the second placed Kumar Venkataraman and Pradeep Deshpande. The field will be joined in the second session by some of the losing quarter finalists who had registered for the pairs.
28 Pairs will qualify for the finals
We wish all contestants the best of luck for today's Bridge.
