Almost all of us remember Shri Murli Deora as the petroleum minister of India (in the recent past), and his political career in general.
Players from Mumbai also remember him for the great social work he tirelessly performed in the city notwithstanding his political ups and down.
A few of us have also been privileged to play bridge with him, not only at his residence, but also at many events, both in India and abroad.
BridgeFromHome has always held Shri Deora, along with his wife, Mrs. Hema Deora, no mean player in her own right, in the highest of regards. Two years ago, Mrs. Deora had instituted an online event in his name. In the previous year, it was conducted as part of the online Winter Nationals.
This year, the Winter Nationals are behind us. However, we would like to commemorate his birth anniversary on the 10th of January, with a small event in his memory.
We will be holding a IMP Pairs event on 10th January, 2023 on RealBridge at 6.30 pm.
The event would be held over 18 boards.
Prizes
Cash Prizes worth minimum Rs. 10,000 will be distributed among the winners. Should participation increase, this amount, as well as the number of prizes could increase. Mrs. Deora has graciously agreed to contribute to the prize money kitty.
Pairs without camera or mike will not be eligible for prizes

Minimum Entries If less than 20 entries are received, the event is liable to be cancelled.
