"Are you myopic on the Bridge table?"
It is an irrefutable fact that a bridge player needs to be far-sighted and sharp on the table!
But it is not uncommon that one develops "Myopia" - worse, one becomes "Color blind " even 🙃
The colorful game has only two colours for the four suits, fortunately or unfortunately😔
One Norwegian expert who played with me for almost 6 months, 4 decades ago gave me a valuable tip to "Trick" the nemesis ( applies both when you are declarer or defender).
Assuming that your adversary is running a suit top down, with gay abandon, and suppose you are not joining the suit after two rounds. His tip was "Nonchalantly discard a low card of the same color!"
It is possible that a player, often gets color blind and doesn't notice your discard, thereby makes a wrong count. Ultimately, an iron - clad contract sets 😢
His additional tip was "You should play the card in tempo". Hesitation will alert the opponent and give him a chance to recover from his myopia or color blindness!
This phenomenon of temporary "amnesia" or myopia happens to even experts, believe you me 😉
It may sound like a silly strategy, but, quite often it pays rich dividends 🙂
If you discard a card from a suit of opposite color, it stands out like a sore thumb!
