The PAN IIT Stars -2026 is here! Like last year, there will be 5 competitive sessions of which the best 3 of each pair will be taken to determine the finalists who get to play with the stars.
Format & Dates
- One Practice session of 16 boards (optional)
- 5 Qualifying sessions of 16 boards each. Scoring for each session will be IMPs.
- Minimum 3 sessions required to qualify.
- Start time: 10am EST / 7am PST / 7.30pm IST (login 30 min early)
(- Login 30 mins early, get your coffee etc. and back at the table 10 mins prior to start) - Finals will consist of 2 sessions of 28 boards each (TBC). Participants must commit to play both sessions
Conditions of Contest
- Average IMPs from best 3 qualifiers will determine ranking (must play in 3 sessions to qualify)
- Non-IIT pairs (neither partner from IIT) are required to obtain approval
- From Milind Kavale or Vasant Tiwari in India; from Pradeep Verma or Anand Nuggihalli in the US - WBF rules and regulations. Permitted conventions - WBF Green, Blue and Red
- Highly Unusual Methods per WBF, ACBL or BFI: must submit system notes to PanIIT for approval - Web accessible convention card required - need to upload to Realbridge
- Alert, Explanation and Table Chat protocols as per RealBridge FAQ tab
- Keep your cameras open at the start; thereafter your decision, though we suggest leaving it open
- Keep your microphone muted unless asked to unmute by an opponent - UNDO would be allowed only in auction and NOT ALLOWED in PLAY
- Prize Money
1st Place = Rs 50,000 (~ $550)
2nd Place = Rs 25,000 (~ $275)
3rd Place = Rs 15,000 (~ $165)
4th Place = Rs 10,000 (~ $110)
5th Place = Rs 5,000 (~ $55)
Total Prize Money = Rs 1,00,000 (~ $1,155)
