52 pairs gathered to participate in the event we conducted in his memory. It was touching to see the homage that our bridge community paid to the maestro who is, even now, being sorely missed.
BridgeFromHome, on its part, disbursed almost all the money received by way of entry fees, retaining just what was needed to cover costs. We were therefore able to award 8 prizes totaling Rs. 12,000 to the participants.

With WBBA having graciously agreed to shift their weekly Shree Cement Pairs back to Tuesday, we are contemplating reverting to a weekly event for Wednesday Wonders. We propose to maintain a minimum prize purse of Rs. 5,000 every week. However, that is possible only if we get a regular response of a minimum of 20 pairs. Else, the event will not be self supporting.
We would also like to remind you about the Smt. Laxmi Mujumdar Memorial Mixed Pairs which commences tomorrow. We would love to see more participants playing in the event. Once, again, based on the overall response, we propose to hold at least one mixed pairs event a quarter.
