Ladies and Gentlemen,
The bridge table looks very peaceful and innocent - Green and soft. But, in reality, it is a quagmire, a battlefield with many a land mine hidden 🙃
Needless to say an unwary player has to watch his steps to avoid the impending dangers of pot holes, pot shots and hidden land mines.
Yes, it is not a bed of roses. It is a tough terrain difficult to negotiate - A quagmire alright 😢
A warfare without the artillery, a battle of wits sans any animosity ( hopefully)!
The defenders are like sharks or torpedos, waiting for the opportunity to attack the soft underbelly of the declarer! And the declarer is prowling around looking for a chance to pull the wool over the eyes of the naive opponents 😇
One can almost ask "Is the game of bridge Veg or Non - Veg?". Well, given the choice of systems, gadgets, weaponry and clairvoyance dished out in various measures, it's best description is probably 'multi-cuisine'.
Actually, it doesn't really matter. Bash on regardless. After all, the spread on the table is of tempting variety. 🙂
Happy bridging,
Cheers
VNR
