Words are inadequate to express the joy in all Indian Bridge players hearts at the achievement of our senior team in finishing runners up in the recently concluded d'Orsi Trophy Championship which represents the World Championship for Senior Bridge Players.
The number of kudos and the number of press cuttings that the entire community has spared no efforts to pulicize have indeed been warming the cockles of all our hearts.
It was, however, now time to raise celebrations to another level. And a friend of the Mumbai pair of Anil Padhye and Rajesh Dalal hosted a small reception in honor of the pair in Mumbai. The reception was well attended by friends of both Ashok Bhawnani as well as the honorable finalists. Over awesome cocktails and snacks, the pair was interviewed by Subir Roy, along with Raju Tolani. This was followed by a small cake cutting ceremony. The cake representing a hand played by Anil in one of the knock outs.
We got some interesting insights into what happened at the table during some of the boards that were discussed ad infinitum in the post mortems of the matches.
Ashok graciously allowed BridgeFromHome to videograph the proceedings and share with all of you. At the outset, we would like to state that the recording is strictly amateur and done more to share with all of you than with any production values in mind. We hope you enjoy this function as much as we enjoyed being a part of it.
