With the round robin completed, the Indian Senior and Mixed teams qualified for the knock out stages as expected. Once again, as expected, the Indian Open and Ladies teams failed to qualify.
We hope that the qualified teams manage to make it all the way and wish them all the best.

India were really playing only for pride today with very slim chances of qualification. However, they lost both their matches to Denmark (16 imps / 5.82 - 4.18) and France (51 ims / 0.75 - 19.25) to finish 13th

As a nation, it would not be incorrect to say that we expected the team to perform better. Having said that, it would be unfair to say that the team failed to do anything other than their best. We have this team for 2024 and we hope that it learns from its shortcomings here and goes on to achieve better results for other international events
The ladies team was playing strong teams today and failed to create any upsets. They lost to Australia (16 imps / 5.30 - 14.70) , China (50 imps / 0.17-19.83), and Poland (20 imps / 4.42 - 15.58).
India finished in 17th position, 11 VPs adrift of the 16th place. They were, of course hampered and, most probably, shocked / disheartened by their team mate's loss in the closing stages, but I feel that the damage was really done in the first two rounds where they managed to collect less than 2 VPs. Their coach has his work cut out to help them improve their skills for tackling future events.

The India Seniors started the day with yet another huge win (19.44 - 0.06) over Hong Kong China with the latter having been penalized 0.5 VPs. They won the second round more sedately (12.61 - 7.39) over Japan and their last round by 19 imps (15.37 - 4.63) over Scotland to finish their outing in 3rd place.
India has chosen 11 placed Scotland as their opponent for the pre quarter finals.

The Indian team started rather disastrously losing their first match by 39 imps (0.90 - 19.10) against USA. They won their second match by 12 imps (14.0 - 6.0) against Croatia and lost their final match by 19 imps (4.25 - 15.75) to Italy.
They finally finished in 12th place.
