At the end of session 3, both semi finals were closely poised. However, the two tables carved out different paths to the final. While the French gave the USA a tough fight to lose narrowly by 6 imps, the Indians carved out their victory in style. After extending their lead by a sedate 10 imps in session 4, they outclassed the Swedes by 40 imps in session 5. Subsequently, Sweden conceded the match.
We wish the Indians all the best for the finals
In the first semi final, Poland pulled away steadily from Switzerland, winning all the 3 sets to emerge victorious. In the second semi final, Italy had a mammoth Set 4 against Argentina. While the Argentinians won the remaining two sessions, they could not cover the deficit.
We wish everybody the best of luck.
Sweden duly kept its date with the finals continuing to win Sets 4 and 5 before the USA conceded.
In the second semi final, Turkiye pulled out two strong performances in Sets 4 and 6 to emerge comfortable victors.
May the better team win tomorrow onwards.
The match between Poland and Italy finished on a knife's edge with Poland emerging victors by a solitary imp after 96 boards. Our heart goes out to the Italians but, unfortunately, only one team could win the match.
In the other semi final, China played strong bridge to pull further away from Germany and win the match comfortablly.
Once again, we wish both teams all the best for the finals.
