The 63rd Winter National Bridge Championship will be conducted online by the Bridge Federation of India between the 8th and 26th January, 2022 and will consist of the following events

  • IMP Pairs – Late Shri Murli Deora Memorial Trophy
  • Ashok Ruia Seniors IMP Pairs (Minimum age should be 60 years)
  • Team of Four – Ruia Gold Event
  • Team of Four – Ruia Silver Event
  • Shree Cement (Gold) Match Point Pairs
  • Shree Cement (Silver) Match Point Pairs
  • Mixed IMP Pairs
  • Ladies IMP Pairs

The entire event will be conducted on the RealBridge platform

IMPORTANT – Performance in the Ruia Gold Teams / Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs / Ladies Pairs / Mixed Pairs will be eligible for Ranking Points for Indian Teams selection, as per the BFI Ranking Point Policy 2021.

  • Participation in this tournament is open to all resident bridge players of Indian Nationality. Teams with one or more non-resident or OCI card holder Indian bridge player(s) or players of other NBO’s of foreign nationality are also eligible to participate. However, the non-resident Indian / OCI Card holder Indian / foreign player(s) or an Indian resident player partnering a non-resident Indian / OCI card holder Indian/ foreign player will not be eligible for the ranking points from this tournament. In case, if the non-resident / OCI card holder / foreign player has played with 2 or more Indian partners in the team event, then all of them will be ineligible for the ranking points.
  • In case there are more than one pair of non-resident Indian / OCI Card holder Indian / foreign player playing for a team in the team event, the whole team will be disallowed any ranking points.
  • In a ranking point Pairs event, an Indian resident player partnering a non-resident Indian / OCI card holder / foreign player will not be eligible for the Ranking points for the event. However, they will be eligible for the prize.
  • In case of a non-resident Indian / OCI Card holder Indian / foreign player(s) secures a rank in an event, that rank will not get substituted for ranking point. For eg. If we are giving ranking points up to 8 positions and the 5th rank is secured by a non-resident Indian / OCI Card holder Indian / foreign player(s), then no ranking points will be allocated to any Indian players for that rank.
  • If there are less than 64 entries in  Gold/Silver Teams Category, there will be no pre quarter final stage
  • English will be the official language for foreign players to communicate with other players participating in the championship. It will be presumed that, while playing on RealBridge online platform, foreign Bridge players participating in the championship are able to communicate with other players in English. Those foreign players, who cannot communicate with other players in English are requested not to participate, as it will mean unnecessary calling of TDs, when other players are not able to understand the meaning of a call made by them and vice versa. CTD has full authority to exit such players from play, if it is found that it is creating problems in smooth running of the event. It may please be noted that no translators will be allowed to the RealBridge table in such cases.
  • All participating players should be registered under BFI Master Point Scheme.
  • Teams participating in Ruia Gold / Ruia Silver Trophy can have a minimum of four and maximum of 8 players in the team.
  • In Ruia Silver teams, a maximum two players of the team can be of the rank of National Masters or above and they should not be playing as a partnership. The rest of the players should be below the rank of National Master.
  • There is no rank restriction for participation in Shree Cement Gold. However, pairs participating in Shree Cement SIlver should be below the rank of National Masters. 
  • TRIOS are not allowed in any of the Pair events.
  • The pairs from finalists / play-off teams from Gold / Silver team event will get seeded to the corresponding Shree Cement Gold / Silver MP Pairs final, depending on the event for which the entry has been received. That is if a pair has given entry in Shree Cement Gold event, he / she will get seeded to the Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs final and the pair who has given entry in Shree Cement Silver event will get seeded to the Shree Cement Silver MP Pairs final.
  • One berth will be reserved for the Sponsors in the final of Late Shri Murli Deora Memorial IMP Pairs.
  • All participating players should go through and abide by the tournament SCoC, which will be circulated on the BFI web site bfi.net.in latest by 1st Jan 2022.
  • For playing on “Realbridge” platform, players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event.   • Detailed information on the schedule & SCoC will be circulated on the BFI web site at bfi.net.in & various Bridge related WhatsApp groups.

  • The event Late Shri Murli Deora IMP Pairs will be conducted on the 8th and 9th January, 2022.
  • There will be a 3 session elimination on the 8th of January, each of 18 boards.
  • This will be followed by a 3 session finals on the 9th of January, each of 18 boards.
  • One berth will be reserved for the Sponsors in the final of Late Shri Murli Deora Memorial IMP Pairs.
  • TRIOS are not allowed.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection.
  • This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event. It may please be noted that you can’t play the event on mobile phone.
  • Entry Fee: Rs. 600 per pair
  • Entry Deadline: 7th Jan, 2022 - 1900 Hrs

  • The Shri Ashok Ruia Senior Pairs will be conducted between the 10th and 13th January, 2022.
  • Participation is restricted to players above 60 years of age
  • There will be two elimination sessions, one each on the 10th and 11th of January, each of 24 boards.
  • Approximately 40% of the field up to a maximum of 48 pairs will qualify for the finals.
  • The finals, which will have two sessions of 24 boards each, will be conducted on the 12th and 13th of January
  • TRIOS are not allowed.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection.
  • This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event. It may please be noted that you can’t play the event on mobile phone.
  • Entry Fee: Rs. 600 per pair
  • Entry Deadline: 10th Jan, 2022 - 1200 Hrs

 

  • The event Ashok Ruia Gold Teams will be conducted from the 14th to the 20th of January
  • If there are less than 64 entries in  Gold/Silver Teams Category, there will be no pre quarter final stage
  • Teams can have a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 players in the team.
  • Each player has to play a minimum criteria at each stage of the tournament as stated in SCoC.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event. It may please be noted that you can’t play the event on mobile phone.
  • Entry Fee: Rs. 2,500 per team
  • Entry Deadline: 14th Jan 2022 by 1200 Hrs


  • The Ashok Ruia Silver Teams will be conducted from the 14th to the 20th of January
  • Teams can have a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 players in the team.
  • If there are less than 64 entries in  Gold/Silver Teams Category, there will be no pre quarter final stage
  • A maximum two players of the team can be of the rank of National Masters or above and they should not be playing as a partnership. The rest of the players should be below the rank of National Master.
  • Each player has to play a minimum criteria at each stage of the tournament as stated in SCoC.

  • The Shree Cement Gold Pairs will be held from 16th to 23rd of January, 2022

  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event. It may please be noted that you can’t play the event on mobile phone.
  • The pairs from finalists / play-off teams from Gold / Silver team event will get seeded to the corresponding Shree Cement Gold / Silver MP Pairs final, depending on the event for which the entry has been received. That is if a pair has given entry in Shree Cement Gold event, he / she will get seeded to the Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs final and the pair who has given entry in Shree Cement Silver event will get seeded to the Shree Cement Silver MP Pairs final
  • Entry Fee: Rs. 1,000 per pair
  • Entry Deadline: 15th January 2022 by 1900 Hrs

 
  • The Shree Cement Silver Pairs will be held from 16th to 23rd of January, 2022
  • TRIOS are not allowed.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event. It may please be noted that you can’t play the event on mobile phone.
  • The pairs from finalists / play-off teams from Gold / Silver team event will get seeded to the corresponding Shree Cement Gold / Silver MP Pairs final, depending on the event for which the entry has been received. That is if a pair has given entry in Shree Cement Gold event, he / she will get seeded to the Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs final and the pair who has given entry in Shree Cement Silver event will get seeded to the Shree Cement Silver MP Pairs final

  • The Women IMP Pairs will be held on 21st January, 2022
  • There will be a 24 board elimination session in the morning.
  • The top 16 pairs will qualify for the finals.
  • They will play an all-play-all final of 2*15 rounds in the afternoon
  • TRIOS are not allowed.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event.   • Entry Fee: Rs. 500 per pair
  • Entry Deadline: 20th January 2022 by 1900 Hrs

  • The Mixed IMP Pairs will be held from 24th-26th of January
  • Two elimination sessions of 24 boards each will be conducted on the 24th and 25th of January
  • Approximately 40% of the field (subject to a maximum of 48 pairs) will qualify for the finals
  • The finals will be conducted on the 26th of January in 2 sessions of 24 boards each.
  • TRIOS are not allowed.
  • The event will be played on RealBridge. Players have to ensure that they have a laptop / desktop, I-pads or PC with Camera & Microphone facility and a good internet connection. This is a mandatory condition and players should ascertain that they are equipped with the required paraphernalia before entering the event.
